UPDATE: March 13, 2023 - 4pm
The EUPA Board of Directors would like to thank all those who provided feedback on the recent decision to amend the gender ratio for Thursday summer league. Due in large part to that feedback the Board has voted to revert the league’s default gender ratio to 4/3. A full statement on this is forthcoming.

At the March meeting of the EUPA Board of Directors, the decision was made to amend the gender ratio for the 2023 Summer Thursday League to 5 Men (masculine identifying) and 2 Women (feminine identifying) as a default, unless both teams have at least 5 women present, upon which the default 4/3 ratio will remain.
Please note that captains may still decide to adjust the ratio for their game to 4/3 or 3/4.
This decision was not taken lightly. The EUPA board of directors has aspirations to eventually adopt Gender Ratio Rule A (alternating points at 3/4 and 4/3 ratio), however due to competing opportunities for competitive female players to participate in Ultimate on Thursdays this summer, we have received feedback from captains that they are facing challenges in recruiting enough females to sustain a team playing at a 4/3 ratio full-time.
Despite the temporary change in gender ratio, the EUPA Board of Directors strongly encourages teams to continue recruiting female players, and reminds members to check the EUPA website for details of the recruitment incentives currently available. These changes are temporary and will revert back to the standard 4/3 for all future sessions.
